Meet The Team
Katherine Dawtry is the owner and operator of While Away Dog Walking and Pet Sitting. Katherine is the proud owner of a West Highland white terrier named Layla, and was raised around animals while growing up in northern England.
Julia Lear, who relocated from the English countryside 8 years ago, is now living in the heart of South Salem with her family. A cat owner for more than 16 years, Julia has cared for many friends, family and neighbors’ pets. Originally from a financial and IT business background, Julia also helps out in the office for While Away Dog Walking and walking the doggies when there is a busy spell. With both children now in college Julia enjoys spending her free time exploring many of the fantastic nature reservations in the surrounding area.
Molly is a lifelong Westchester resident and is the proud owner of five dogs, her favorite being her Pug Charlie. Molly’s family has always had multiple dogs. She is an avid lover of animals and photography and often combines the two.
Klaus Selmayr, who first retired from a life long business career after which time he did part-time horse-shoeing for 12 years, lives on his small private farm in Katonah, enjoying life with his horses, sheep, chickens and several dogs and cats. His special favorite is Lori, a 9 year old Chihuahua mix which Klaus rescued in 2013.
Elizabeth Piper is the proud owner of two dogs, a 12 year old mutt named Fletcher and another mutt, a puppy named Bentley. Piper was raised around cats growing up, as well as a hamster and fish, and spent her later years living with both cats and dogs in northern Westchester.
Julie is an animal lover having grown up with several pets including dogs, fish and rabbits and now currently has her two rescue pups. She loves being outside with her kids and teaching them about nature and animals in the wild. In her free time she loves traveling with her family.
Laureen grew up in Northern Westchester and now lives in Brewster with her family. Over the years, her family has adopted five rescue dogs. Drake is featured here! With her sons in college, she enjoys spending time walking and visiting all of our four legged friends.
Claire Paulhac is a college student at the University of Richmond. She has two poodles at her home in Bedford, NY whose names are June and Puck. She spends a lot of time hiking with her dogs during the summer. Claire also rode horses her entire life and loves all animals!
Debbie Atkins has lived in Ridgefield for 20 years after growing up in central England. She owns and runs a property development business located in Ridgefield. The mother of two children and the owner of two cats and a guinea pig, she has always enjoyed caring for animals and regularly walks her friends’ Border Terriers Henry & Nel.
Chris Calabro lives in Ridgefield, CT with her husband and two children. Their two dogs and rescue cat round out the family. Chris has been taking care of pets professionally since 2013.
Vicki, is a lifelong dog lover who believes all dogs are puppies at heart and they deserve all of the love and care possible. She is the proud dog mom of Bella, a seventeen year old Shih Tzu and Smith a six year old Mini-Schnauzer. Vicki enjoys road cycling and hiking. For the past two years, Vicki enjoys cooking all of her dog’s food using an organic recipe designed for each dog’s health needs.
Eliza Fraser (Liza) is the proud owner of a black Lab named Logan and a horse named Frank. Co-President of Lewisboro Horsemen's Association, Liza is a retired corporate attorney and loves the opportunity to be outside everyday walking wonderful While Away clients.
Liz Breakstone has been working with While Away Dog Walking since 2010 , Liz is from Bedford, New York and currently resides in South Salem with her husband, son, daughter, two dogs, one cat and six chickens. Liz has always been a lover of all animals and always takes care of your pets like her own.
Trish has been a resident of Northern Westchester for more than twenty five years, and has had a successful real estate career during that time listing and selling homes in her community. Through her involvement with the Lewisboro Soccer Club, Honey Hollow Pony Club, Saw Mill Aquatics, Marlins Swimming and Boys and Girls Clubs of Mt. Kisco (among many others), she is an avid animal lover and loves to be outdoors walking and hiking.
